Our Most Frequently-Asked Questions
Q: What's the difference between 1
1/2" pipe and 2" tube?
A: Standard for the industry today is 1
1/2" pipe which measures 1.90" (outer diameter, or OD). Many mistakes happen when people attempt to measure tubing and/or anchor sockets with a ruler. It's best to use a Pipe Gauge.
Q: Does bronze rust or corrode?
A: No. It will change color but does not disintegrate, because it contains no iron.
Q: Can bronze fittings be used in salt water?
A: Yes. It is the primary metal used in the marine industry.
Q: Can bronze be substituted for plastic?
A: Absolutely! We get many requests to replace plastic fittings with bronze.
Q: Does Standard Bronze have its own mascot?
A: Of course! Sydney handles all of the tough stuff.
